Creating a good strategy isn’t easy because it isn’t obvious. It requires both creativity and logic to create one. Recognising a good strategy is now easier with this actionable guide. Look for these “Four Facets of a Good Strategy”:
- Being clear on what challenge the strategy needs to tackle,
- Creating a solution to tackle the challenge,
- Being able to execute the strategy,
- Being able to make money with the strategy.

I realised while I was preparing these that a strategy can be evaluated as a means to an end without assessing what those means and ends are. However, strategies that earn money while harming people or our planet are not what I consider ‘good’. So I have added a additional criterion, which is that a good strategy should be ethical and not exploit people or our planet.
